I would like to run ack/ag/grep on the current selection as the query. I want the search results to become contents of a new file inside mcedit. Is this possible to accomplish? I saw e.g.: the make macro that was opening a new mcedit instance for the make results, a sign that this might be not possible.

Can the user menu open a new buffer inside existing, currently running mcedit instance, and prefill it with some contents?
