Should we assign DOIs to model releases? (More information can be found here.)

It is not really needed as Github is already citable. If we use the release pages, we can state the version number or we can give the commit SHAs for intermediate model versions.

I will have a read. It could be interesting but I want to understand how it works.

PS: I have tweaked some of your labels for colors and naming to make them clearer (I think). Also, and maybe it is more than a little OCD, let's stick to either lowercase or capitalcase :)
