Summary
We’re back and excited to share updates and fixes we’ve made for you. Please keep sending any and all feedback you have. We very much appreciate it!
Disclaimer: As our small team is heads-down working towards v0.4: The API Update, which will include documentation and a starter-kit, any bug and quality fixes week to week will be very modest in size and scope.
Fixed this release
Removed additional deprecated blocks [[#1005824] Deprecated Blocks in the Block Selector #101] and updated to sort blocks alphabetically. The blocks that appear for use need to be in compliance with the rest of Bedrock which is why we are curating the list.
Fixed Molang animation pausing in Editor for Guardian mobs. Previously when you would pause the simulation, the Guardians would continue wiggling their tails! Now the animation is paused appropriately.
Fixed Editor player dying in Tool Mode [[#991887] Mobs will attack you out of Crosshair Mode #13] [[#991887] You can die in Editor Mode #20]. Previously you could die in Editor Tool Mode after swapping your personal gamemode, but there wasn’t a way to respawn. We’ve fixed that!
Fixed disabled command execution for /execute and command block [[#995503] /execute can bypass locked commands #87] [[#991887/995503] Gamemode command #40]. We’ve closed the loophole with ensuring /commands work as designed throughout the Editor experience. Please let us know if you find any more issues or inconsistencies!
Closed emoting and achievement [[#991932] List of settings to change for getting achievements in editor mode can be empty #67] loopholes in Editor that could grant access to the Marketplace within the Editor experience. It is intentional and as-designed to block access to purchasing Marketplace items from within the Editor experience, as well as disabling gameplay achievement acquisition.
Next
v0.4: The API Update will be focused on exposing the Editor APIs for you to begin building your own Editor extensions. For now we invite you to acquaint yourself with the existing scripting efforts and get familiar with Typescript!
Additionally, if you're new to the Editor GitHub this week, we encourage you to join the Bedrock Add-Ons Discord #Editor channel!
Thank you for being here! You're the best! ❤️
