Here is a list of units from the udunits, extracted from their lib dir: udunits2-base, -accepted, -derived, -common.xml (only one name alias for each, however). there are 276, with lots of overlap with the current EML dictionary.
File is pipe-separated, with 4 fields: udunits2-symbol, alias1,def,defintion
udunits2_all_symbol_alias1_def_definition.txt
