This directory contains ASTRA and ELEGANT input files to simulate perform start-to-end simulations of the FAST SRF linac from the photocathode up to the high-energy dump.

The ASTRA input files describe the beam generation and acceleration to ~40 MeV corresponding to z from 0 (photocathode surface) to z=8 m (downstream of the second SRF cavity). A description of the injector can be found in http://accelconf.web.cern.ch/AccelConf/IPAC10/papers/thpd020.pdf (note that CAV39 is not anymore part of the nominal setup).

The ELEGANT input files provides the beamline configuration from z=8 up to the high-energy dump after acceleration through a 8-cavity cryomodule.
