Cant boot to opencore menu #15
Comments
Forgot to say Thanks for the help |
are you sure the path is correct on the USB? You might have done the same error the last time you tried this EFI. Do check it again (compare with dortania guide), and if it still persists, all i can say is to double check bios settings from the dortania guide. I wonder why it keeps happening, sorry to hear that :/ |
Also, after injecting SMBIOS, did you remove censored prefix from |
Firstly, I was able to install and run the previous version of the EFI perfectly fine and the issue was on me. Now I did remove the censored prefix from config.plist and thats where I am now. I did not change the smbios at all yet but I don’t think that would be the issue right? I cant get into the opencore boot selector, does it inject before? I missed that step last time and everything worked fine but obviously I couldnt use any icloud aspects. Im not too sure. Its probably just that and I will work on testing it next. Im sorry for the late reply, I have been busy recently. Thanks |
Im not sure what you mean by after injecting the smbios. I thought opencore injects that into macos automatically? |
Poor choice of words, my apologies.
What i wanted to say was "inserting" smbios values to the config plist...

For the life of me I cant boot the new update on the efi. I already ran the bios offsets with modGRUBShell. I just simply selected it in the bios and booted the modGRUBShell.efi. After running the offsets and making an install usb, I cant get to the opencore menu. I set in the bios to boot to efi/oc/opencore.efi and I cant get it to go past “grabbed zero system-id for sb, this is not allowed. Halting on critical error”. If you need any more info, im willing to test. The previous efi works perfectly fine but I know im missing a step here.
