I know the Cassandra 1.2 support is brand new but I have the following issue using .setCqlVersion("3.0.0").setTargetCassandraVersion("1.2"):

keyspace.dropColumnFamily(cf);

results in:

com.netflix.astyanax.connectionpool.exceptions.TransportException: TransportException: [host=localhost(127.0.0.1):9160, latency=328(328), attempts=1]org.apache.thrift.transport.TTransportException

The above exception is thrown when I attempt to drop a column family. Also using the cql3 string "DELETE TABLE table" throws the same exception.

Do you see anything in the Cassandra log? The above exception is just indicating that cassandra terminated the socket connection.

After further investigation it seems like it works with a real instance of Cassandra 1.2.1 just fine. However, my unit test fails when running against com.netflix.astyanax.test.EmbeddedCassandra.

@dojadop , please reopen the issue if you are still seeing an exception.
