For users using Plex Media Server's MyPlex option to access their media server, and Serenity is not showing any available servers or not showing anything beyond the Settings menu option, please read the following information for a possible fix.

The MyPlex functionality of Plex Media server, basically secures your media server for remote access over the internet. In doing so it can also lock down access for internal network accesss. If your plex media server is not on the same subnet as the ip you are trying to access, then you will need to specifically grant access to the ip address and subnet. The following is how to do this:

Through the plex web interface, you can go into Settings->Advanced Settings->Network and enter a comma separated list of IP addresses that can access the server without needing to go through MyPlex authorization.

So for example if whatever device you are running Serenity on, it's IP address is 192.168.0.100, then you would enter into the Authorized clients section:

192.168.0.100/255.255.255.0

This is only necessary if your clients are not on the same subnet as your plex media server (i.e. you have a guest network and private network in your home).

Serenity does not support remote access of your content through MyPlex it only supports local network access.

There is some more information here:

But basically I think we are getting blocked by plex media server and just need to tell it what IP Addresses are allowed.

Supposedly you can give global access to a network and it's subnets by entering something like:

192.0.0.0/255.0.0.0
