I found a discrepancy between the documentation and the actual implementation of -> operator.
In the documentation -> is said to be non-associative, however in the grammar it is declared to be right-associative.

Running it in the repl also shows that the operator is right-associative

nix-repl> (false -> false) -> false
false

nix-repl> false -> (false -> false)
true

nix-repl> false -> false -> false
true
