Instructions to test this update (click to expand)

Either download from Cachix:

nix-store -r /nix/store/5b4zi292jgibpahgc4ff7pw9mm1zw456-bfs-1.4 \
  --option binary-caches '' \
  --option trusted-public-keys '

(r-ryantm's Cachix cache is only trusted for this store-path realization.)

Or, build yourself:

nix-build -A bfs

After you've downloaded or built it, look at the files and if there are any, run the binaries:

ls -la /nix/store/5b4zi292jgibpahgc4ff7pw9mm1zw456-bfs-1.4
ls -la /nix/store/5b4zi292jgibpahgc4ff7pw9mm1zw456-bfs-1.4/bin

cc @yesbox for testing.

Linking fails on Darwin. This failed in the past as well, so it is not a regression. 1.4 seems to be fully functional in MacPorts, so it seems it should be possible for us to fix Darwin support.

My guess is the Darwin failure is due to make release using LTO. This looks like the same issue: "#19098"

I'm not sure how to fix the toolchain, but it could be worked around by just running plain make, which will pick up CFLAGS from the environment.
