Either download from Cachix:

nix-store -r /nix/store/3nk9z1qnzqp171xh4dgjfgzbz820c3fn-brial-1.2.8 \
  --option binary-caches '' \
  --option trusted-public-keys '

(r-ryantm's Cachix cache is only trusted for this store-path realization.)
For the Cachix download to work, your user must be in the trusted-users list or you can use sudo since root is effectively trusted.

Or, build yourself:

nix-build -A brial

After you've downloaded or built it, look at the files and if there are any, run the binaries:

ls -la /nix/store/3nk9z1qnzqp171xh4dgjfgzbz820c3fn-brial-1.2.8
ls -la /nix/store/3nk9z1qnzqp171xh4dgjfgzbz820c3fn-brial-1.2.8/bin

Tests pass locally. The ofBorg failures seem to be timeouts, but it's weird that they are not indicated as timeouts. Need to keep an eye on that.

Note that this update is important for python 3.8 compatibility of pyBrial, which shares the brial src and version (BRiAl/BRiAl@74d8617).

Edit: Actually this was already included in version 1.2.6.
