It's very common for me to need a client connected to the same port/host combo so that I can put it in SUBSCRIBE mode.

It would therefore be really handy to have client.clone() return a new RedisClient with the same configuration.

I need the same thing too!

Without this, every time we want to use PUB/SUB we have to make all our APIs take two clients, or take a host and port option and then add node_redis always as a dependency thus forcing version lockin and making otherwise lean projects heavier to install.

👍 super useful

Sure this should be pretty straightforward and definitely useful.

The other thing I had planned was with a later major version making the subscriber client state transparent, so that it would automatically take care of this if you sent a *SUBSCRIBE command. (likewise for WATCH)
