@NormanDunbar NormanDunbar released this Jan 13, 2021

After a year and a bit, and what a year 2020 turned oout to be, the next exiting (maybe?) edition of the somewhat irregular Assembly Language eMagazine is now available.

This issue covers stuff like:

  • UTF8 again - I have a pair of much improved conversion routines courtesy of Wolfgang Lenerz;
  • Reversing the bits in a register;
  • Calculating the next power of two;
  • Some "random" stuff - generating random integers in assembly.

Update 16 January 2021 Thanks to Marcel Kilgus, I have added a little extra explanation to the random chapter. A new PDF has been uploaded.

As ever, you only need the PDF file and the code.zip file. The rest is just the source code -- this time there's a couple of Lyx files (https://www.lyx.org/) and the usual collection of LaTeX files.

Happy New Year.

The September 2019 issue contains articles on the new Q68 device, plus an explanation of UTF8 encoding and how it can be used on the QL. Utilities are provided to convert between the QL and UTF8 and back again.

The pdf and the Code.zip files are the files you are looking for.

The Source Code files, are not required as they are in LaTeX format and is the source code for the Magazine only - it is not required unless, of course, you want to update the pdf file.
