As some of you know, I am working on a similar system to signal the OA-ness of references cited on Wikipedia (cf. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Open_Access/Signalling_OA-ness - started that page at the BMJ hackday).
To integrate the two, it would be nice to have an API or some other form of programmatic access to the OA Button data. I'm sure you have discussed this but could not find traces of these discussions, so I am opening this one for collecting information on the topic.
Thats a great idea! @Daniel-Mietchen can you start putting together a proposal for an API you would like to see?
We need to land CKAN support in #208 which should provide most of this feature.
I would also love to see API. But also to submit data. In @PeerLibrary we are displaying also closed access publications and when a user who does not have access to it tries to access it, we sadly have to prevent that. So, we could offer a button to report this to OAButton. And when user would click it, something would happen: maybe some workflow defined by you: like reporting, but also asking the author for the paper and other options. How would this be best integrated?
I can. Skype? Google Hangout?
