The name Kuan-Ti was a title before it was the town’s name, as it was originally given to the best warriors and leaders within the Ashi clan. The town was established by the last honored Kuan-Ti upon the clan establishing the town. The Ashi clan has always had roots in traditional fighting styles, with not just weapons but fist and foot, it only seemed naturally fitting to house the Fighting gym. In the past the gym has branched out in different fighting styles depending on who lead the gym at the time. Once going as far as introducing stealth and poison into their Gym’s style. This however was short lived as they were accused of being Ninjas. As they were vastly overpowered, they quickly switched to a more traditional “Mantis” style incorporating Bug types into the fighting techniques. More recently, the Gym leaders have returned to the Gym’s roots going strictly Fighting types as their base. Fun fact: Kuan-Ti and Ione have an ongoing rivalry that has lasted generations
