The enhancement

At the moment, we try for 20 seconds to connect to the Octopus Server, and if its down, we fail with a not very nice message.

for the first 20 seconds:

(note the lasso continues to animate)

This can happen if the Octopus server is down when the user tries to login.
This happens a lot during Octopus development, so this is at least partially an aid to development.

We should continue to retry, and show some detailed information in a subtle way.
