I inherited code that parses an Excel file and inserts the data in to a DataTable. I understand that this has been working for more than 5 years with very little changes in code. (I am sure there are many suggestions to make it better, but that is not the issue.) Upon updating to DocumentFormat.OpenXml version 2.10.0, the first column of data is always null. I was unable to find breaking changes in OpenXML that was need to be changed, and was hoping you could point me in the right direction to find a resolution.

  • .NET Target: (.NET Core)
  • DocumentFormat.OpenXml Version: 2.10.0

I have included 2 LinqPad 5 documents that use exactly the same internal code (copied from our existing class library); one targeting OpenXml 2.9.1 and the other targeting 2.10.0 ... along with a data file. If you are able to run it, make sure you update the path to the test data file. Just run the page to observe the different results.

Note: Apologies for using LinqPad, I just find this an easy code playground and I have not written a console/windows application in a number of years.

First column (RespondentID) of data is null.

First column of data should contain the values in the excel spreadsheet.
