Instructions for integrating Power BI report in Project Accelerator

The instructions for adding the power BI reports into Project Accelerator are not correct. As PA is a managed solution, neither of these options will work, creating new items in web resources for example, is not possible.

This is how it worked for me:

1. choose the 2nd option - "Updating the report menu via Web resource (full frame)"
2. While creating the Web Resource use the exact values given in the step 9,
   Set
   Display Name: Accelerator Power BI report
   Name: Accelerator_report
   Type: Webpage HTML

I have this same exact issue, though the solution posted here did not work for me. I tried both options from the instructions to modify the Project Accelerator to include the Power BI report. In both cases it is not possible to add objects to the Accelerator app, because it is a managed solution. And it's not possible to export the managed solution to edit later either. I found that you can create a new, blank managed solution and add a dashboard or embedded report there, and then add the site map object for the Accelerator report and publish it, but those changes do not reflect on the actual app.

Does anyone have the Power BI reports displaying in the Reports section of the Accelerator? Can step-by-step instructions be shared here? I had opened a ticket with Microsoft Premier Support on the issue and was directed to post my issue here instead.
