Hi,

The new CEC Adapter Version brings Problems with it that worked in 2.1.3.

When CEC is enabled in 2.1.3 and the Setting ; make XBMC the active source switched off.
The Raspberry starts up does not switch to the HDMI automatically. When i then go to the HDMI Channel for the PI it connects and all CEC buttons work with the Remote.

With 2.1.4 and same settings, it also doesnt switch to HDMI automatically but when you chang to the HDMI Channel Remote doesnt work.

then i noticed that in the menu of HDMI Channels there is 2 options for the PI one is called HDMI Port 2 and the other is HDMI XBMC. When i choos the HDMI XBMC the remote works but not when i choos hdmi Port 2. This is very annoying because the TV will allways automatically choose HDMI Port 2 instead of the HDMI XBMC Channel.

It seems it doesnt combine the HDMI XBMC with the HDMI Port 2 correclty.

I was reading about similar problems in earlier CEC Adapter Versions aswell but never any solution. But then everything seemed to work in 2.1.3.

greetings

I've got a similar problem.
My Sony TV (KDL-46EX715) worked perfectly with OE 3.2.4 (libcec 2.1.3) on RPi, with all development versions including libcec 2.1.4 (Gotham and Frodo builds) there are some issues.
When turning on the TV switching between STB and XBMC works fine for about 10 to 20 seconds. Afterwards the TV reports a connection failure, especially when I switched to the STB it's impossible to switch back to XBMC. When I'm in XBMC the TV creates an input called Tuner 2 instead of Tuner 1, so switching back to STB doesn't work as usual.
I tried out different versions and now I'm back at OE 3.2.4 because the CEC switching feature is quite important for me.

By the way: seems to be the same problem a user a few days before posted with his Philips TV. In my case CEC still works partially, at least I can do inputs on XBMC with my TV remote when switched back manually on my AVR (which is an Onkyo TX-SR576).

edit: I'm sorry for not regarding the rules for issue reports. This is a little embarrassing for me but I hope I can make up for it in the future.
I tested it again with r17780 minutes ago, even restored XBMC to standard settings but the issue still exists. This is my XBMC.log:
http://sprunge.us/XgbV
At the end I tried switching to STB, switching back wasn't possible again as Tuner 2 appeared.

This is an example where I did some switching with 3.2.4. No Tuner 2 appears and it works flawlessly:

Maybe it's not an OpenELEC but a libcec problem only because the issue occured with all development/custom versions including the rbej Frodos with libcec 2.1.4...

hey guys wtf ???
please read!
not reading + not testing latest nightly + no logs = the bug is not a bug and does not belong to this bugtracker.
"+1 I have the same problem" might make sense on forums but NOT on github.

please re-test with latest nightly, post debug logs, or I will close this as invalid in 24 hours.

Sorry mate if i hit the wrong topic to post into. I was just sure for it to be a libcec 2.1.4 issue and because that wouldn't be changing in newer Versions for me it is clearly a bug. (I had the same issue with a newest Nightly with Raspbmc including 2.1.4 aswell)

I will retest tonight with newest Version and get back with logs if the error is still the same, what i do expect.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can you try (in config.txt)
hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1

Hi,
sure that value is in. Missing this value makes the TV Switch at startup of Raspberry Pi. Would have to see how the TV behaves when this Value NOT IN (might be that it sees the Raspberry HDMI correctly). This would not be a solution though, because i dont want my TV to switch to HDMI2 at all if i choose to startup on HDMI1.

But i have this value in on my Raspbmc with libcec 2.1.3 as well and dont have the issue.

ps: because im in a course this week i didnt have time to generate logs on newest Version. Will deliver asap.

greetings

This is my log with hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1 in config.txt:
http://sprunge.us/UOAF
It seems as if switching works only for some amount of time or... just twice ;)
Turning the tv/avr-set off and on resolves the problem for once (as you maybe can see in the logfile) but I don't want to turn my devices off/on all the time just to switch from RPi to my Dreambox.
So unfortunately ignoring cec_init doesn't work for me...
As you might recognize it's the Milhouse release from today - which doesn't make any difference to this issue as it appeared in official 4.0 beta as well in the same way.

I know.. as it appears in all Gotham releases and even in Raspbmc it can't be an OpenELEC issue. I didn't want to report it everywhere right away, I appreciate your advice now. Thank you!
