Currently, the infantry inside an APC or other transport unit will also switch sides when the vehicle is hijacked. I think a better solution for this is to unload all the passengers.

Related to #12266.

Out of interest, what did the original games (TS mutant hijacker, RA2 mind control) do in this case?

I just tested TS, the infantry inside doesn't switch sides. After unloading it will shoot at the APC. (Like how it was in #12266.)

I've found this footage of a bunker Overlord with rocket soldiers inside being hijacked. I don't know what happened to the rocket soldiers. The rocket soldiers are later shooting at the worker but not at the quad cannon.

Additionally, a transport loaded with infantry being sniped by Jarmen Kell also unloads all the passengers.

About RA2, I didn't find good footage for that. Hopefully someone can test it out. I found this video. There is a purple Battle Fortress on the left side. It's hard to see but it gets mind controlled. I don't know if the passengers are also mind controlled.

Addendum to TS/RA2: Passengers don't end up mind-controlled themselves, but the Battle Fortress will use their weapons to attack their own. If a vehicle with a pilot (aka Crewed=yes) is hijacked, the hijacker overrides the pilot, if it's destroyed while being mindcontrolled, the link is transferred and the pilot will be owned by the mindcontroller IIRC (pretty sure on the latter, but suddenly notsure on the former if the link is transferred or not, been a while I've looked at piloted mindcontrolled vehicles esp considering that Ares revamped crewed logic entirely).

Well it doesn't sound realistic, i mean imagine if some one manages to enter an apc full of hostile soldiers inside? in my opinion it will be better to kill the unfortunate hijacker at least based on specific transport units, for example if you take a look inside the red alert APC M113 you will notice that the driver seat (forward end to the left) is exposed to the passengers.
So it will be wise to make the hijacker logic to check for curtain conditions for example unit type and if it is loaded with passengers and then decide to capture the vehicle or die inside it.

Well, hijacking a crewed tank is not realistic :P But your suggestion could also be a solution. I just looked at it from a gameplay point of view.

@Arular101 haha yea thats also true. But yea this could be used as a counter measure against the hijacker.

I'm not sure if it was really that intuitive. A player can't tell if an enemy APC is loaded or not, so using a hijacker becomes a gamble (and might look weird to players who don't know what the logic behind this is).
