Following on from #134 we should plan the contents of any OSM newsletter, and evaluate how much of such a thing should be machine-generated. @miike I really like the idea of a place where we could assemble news/items, and then upon some trigger or when a certain time is reached, that content is sent out. Are you able to say whether something like that exists? This sounds like a bloggy news article that is sent to people by email each week, which would be OK because many of our target audience do not necessarily use ereaders/rss.

Pulling the data out is pretty easy, we just ask Githubs API for recent comments which returns a JSON response that we can then parse in whatever way we wish. The real question is how we want to distribute it out to people.

Closing. A PDF-based newsletter was developed:

Have linked this Github issue in the Technical Operations page of the wiki to ensure it's not orphaned, since in future an email-based newsletter with automatic capture of activity would still be very attractive.

If anyone remains interested in developing an email-based newsletter, that'd be very useful, and this Issue can be resurrected.
