Ammler opened the ticket and wrote:

As long as there is no better solution, its really needed to have possibility to build rivers also on a running game. Specially on MP, you need possibility to fix someone else destroyed etc. Prices are 3 times more as canals. (If I saw it right.)

If you really don't like to support it comfortably. Then please remove the desync (file water_cmd.cpp), so you could at least fix such things with a patched client.
