adding touchscreen fab

Motivation

My motivation is to be able to control the FABtotum locally, without the need of a separate device AND being able to directly run real applications controlling it (pronterface, milling software). So it has mostly an experimental value.

Hardware

I am running a 7 inch capacitive touch screen that interfaces with the pi via HDMI and USB (SKU:101-40-192 | UPC:6959011562004). I made a 3d printable case for my specific usage. It is in thingiverse.

Modifying the custom image

sudo apt-get install raspberrypi-ui-mods
reboot
sudo nano /boot/config.txt

insert this text in that file: max_usb_current=1
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=1
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0

Continuing with the installation:
sudo apt-get install iceweasel
sudo apt-get install matchbox-keyboard

sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Insert this text:

Section "InputClass"
   Identifier "calibration"
   Driver "evdev"
   MatchProduct "FT5406 memory based driver"

   Option "EmulateThirdButton" "1"
   Option "EmulateThirdButtonTimeout" "750"
   Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "70"
EndSection

reboot

Unless you want an italian keyboard layout:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration
