Reasons to think this project is dead:

  • Appears to have been completely abandoned by the original developer. No commits have been merged in over 2 years.
  • Does not work with the current release of python, and requires installing python2 which is end-of-life. Even with this, the services rely on the ujson python module which has been dead for a long time now.
  • Does not work with the current release of Ubuntu (20.04 LTS) and probably RedHat based distros without major modification to the ansible playbook.
  • Uses antiquated SSL settings in the nginx config file.
  • Includes certificate files which nginx refuses to load due to weak ciphers.

If this project is dead, is there something I'm missing to replace the functionality that it provides?

For anyone else wondering about this project, our Palo Alto engineering rep pointed us at minemeld-docker which seems to be a bit more actively maintained.
