New game solver looks better at first glance but has a lot of issues #32

I was happy to see a beta solver link on the "old" site, but soon disappointed and troubled by the proposed changes. For me and my use case the beta is worse in almost every aspect, except the game board looks nice and modern at first glance.

Current solver: https://connect4.gamesolver.org/
Beta solver: https://ludolab.net/

  1. First of all, the new site is a game machine, not a solver. If it's possible to play as two humans, I haven't found it. So you have to play against the AI.
  2. The status ring on next turn keeps animating, which makes me anxious. I know it's a me issue, but I'm sure that means many other people feel the same. Instead, I recommend a static game piece next to the player whose turn it is.
  3. The hints disappear after every move. It's extremely tedious to have to click it every turn.
  4. The hints, as well as the game advantage info, is not sight-friendly. I'm close to 20-20 with thick glasses and have red-green colorblindess. It's hard to read the number inside the red. What's wrong black on white text?
  5. Even on the old server, the - sign is often covered by the outline of the up/down thumb, which I misread sometimes.
  6. The hints are tiny compared to the old solver, again, hard to read.

Finally, what's lacking in the wild is an AI that plays like a human, in other words, one that plays at different levels or knows some strategies but not others. Two games are never the same.

I hope these issues can be remedied. Thank you for all your work.
