When the user runs the following code
play "F3/4^G3/4c3/4f3/4[gE]3/4c3/4^G3/4g3/4[^g^D]3/4c3/4^G3/4^g3/4 [d=D]"
There should be a debug mode where it can render the notes that are being played as beautiful music staves, as it does when you paste the string into this webpage:
http://test.incompleteopus.net/vexabc/test/editor.html

The github project incompleteopus/vexabc is an open-source library that could be used to provide this.
