[Mistmeadow Skulk] and [Spectra Ward]'s protection abilities are granted by [Concerted Effort] but not visible graphically
Mar 12, 2018
Likely related to 4, I just found out that I made a minor mistake - Spectra Ward's protection ability is not shared. I could not cast Shelter because of Petrified Root-Kin's Pro instants ability. When I removed Root-Kin, and did some more testing, I was able to use Spectra Ward on creatures not enchanted with the aura, meaning they have not been given any form of pro white. So it seems some abilities exist but are not granted graphically (the mistmeadow bug) and some are simply not given at all. I have removed the Spectra Ward section.
I have done some more testing. It appears that all protections from creature types I've tested so far don't appear on the cards but are functional. For instance, Warren-Scourge Elf grants Protection from Goblins to all creatures you control. Even though you cannot see it as text, Fanatical Firebrand is unable to target them as it should be unable to if protection is granted. The same applies to abilities like protection from non-spirit creatures like Harbinger of Spring.
The only protection ability I've found so far that isn't granted at all by concerted effort is Spectra Ward's, which seems unique because abilities like Holy Mantle's protection from creatures are granted functionally (so it's not an aura thing) and abilities like Pristine Angel's protection from all colors are granted functionally (so it's not just a pro all colors thing), implying something's up with Spectra Ward itself. Perhaps something to do with Spectra Ward's "does not remove auras" rider?
I have also left this information at #4.
