I always get the error (No DATAMODEL_NATIVE specified), no
matter what I do. Attempts to define it in the makefile cause
other, even uglier errors.
FWIW, I'm using gcc 18.104.22.168 and -I/usr/local/include, which
is where the gcc includes live. I ran Configure interactively, I
answered all the questions, and I took all the defaults (except
for my email address). I'm a seasoned Unix builder who knows his
way around compilers and makefiles. Each of the questions from
Configure made perfect sense to me, and the default selections
seemed eminently reasonable.
