Couch to 5K, built for people who don't run yet — and grounded in the science of not getting hurt.
Strides turns "I want to run a 5K" into a concrete, personalized plan and coaches you through every session: a run/walk timer with audio + haptic cues, a screen that stays awake, a live notification, and progress you can see. It's for the person before they'd ever open Strava.
Everything stays on your device — no account, no analytics, no data ever leaves your phone.
- Personalized plan. Pick your goal (5K), your timeline, and how many runs a week. Strides generates a run/walk progression scaled safely to you — and pushes back on goals that would get a beginner hurt.
- The session player. Big glanceable run/walk timer with a countdown ring, audio + haptic cues, screen-stays-awake, and a persistent notification.
- Evidence-based. Every recommendation is sourced (NHS Couch to 5K, peer-reviewed sports medicine). The Method screen shows the why, honestly — including which "rules" are actually myths.
- Track everything. Streaks, calendar, week-by-week progress, longest run.
- Forgiving. Repeat any week with no penalty. A missed run is just a missed run.
