priv-ns.sil.at is a secondary for priv.at, running powerdns 2.9.21. This is a delegation only zone.

This looks fine:

dig +norec @priv-ns.sil.at a lendl.priv.at

but when I query for SOA instead of A records:

dig +norec @priv-ns.sil.at soa lendl.priv.at

I don't get a referral in the authority section, just the SOA from priv.at. As I see it, queries for SOA should be treated like any other RR.

Try e.g. http://www.squish.net/dnscheck/ and let it run for lendl.priv.at / SOA

Today we did a downgrade to 2.9.21 in order to temporarily resolve this problem. (We upgraded at 2009-02-16)
