By adding this

AM_SILENT_RULES([yes]) after AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE, one gets silent rules by default for Makefile. It can be overriden with ./configure --disable-silent-rules, or make V=1

This will cause compilation to look bit like this:

  CXX polarrsakeyinfra.o
  CXX md5.o
  CXX signingpipe.o
  CXX dnslabeltext.o
  CXX ednssubnet.o
  CC aescrypt.o
  CC aeskey.o

which is much easier to read, and easier to spot errors.

When there are errors that abort the make, I would love to see the g++ (or other tool) invocation. Is there a variant that makes this possible?
