  • Program: dnsdist
  • Issue type: Feature request

This feature requst is about collecting HTTP response code level stats.
Counters for each HTTP response code (200/400/408/500/504/...) to answer questions like:

  • How common is each HTTP response code?
  • Is the rate of HTTP 500 responses unusually high?
  • Did it significantly change?
  • Is there an observable trend?
  • Was there a significant change after upgrading dnsdist?

ideally these numbers should be broken down to the HTTP version and request method to answer questions like:

  • Are errors more frequently happening on HTTP/2 than on HTTP/1?
  • Are HTTP GET requests more error prone than POST requests?

Would be great if this data is included in Carbon stats.
