This issue isn't really specific to pyramid_tm. Looks like you're having a generic problem installing packages. I'd highly recommend trying to create a fresh virtualenv and starting again.

Hi Rockyburt,
I had the exact same problem. I have the above error message mentioned by “iheartism” when trying to install khufu or akhet. All had the same problem with pyramid_tm. I even tried to install it without virtualenv, i.e into the c:\Python27, got the exact same error.
Here is my environment:
Windows 7 64 bit, Python27(32bit, used to install 64bit, had lots of trouble with installing packages, switched to 32, all solved)
VS 2008 c++ (added to environment variable too)

I has no problem installing both Django and Pyramid. I.e. manage to get a base template website running fine. But whenever I try to create a Akhet or Khufu, it went to download the pyramid-tm from PyPi, and then got the same problem. I've tried with many new virtualenv, still has the same problem. Can you please give me some direction where the problem is or how can I debug this through? thanks a lot.

BTW, I have no problem installing other packages. I got pinax installed successfully too.

By the way, have I mentioned I hate MANIFEST files?

Maybe, but there was different error

File "C:\WebServers\usr\local\python\Lib\distutils\filelist.py", line 105, in _parse_template_line
dir_pattern = convert_path(words[1])
File "C:\WebServers\usr\local\python\Lib\distutils\util.py", line 203, in convert_path
raise ValueError, "path '%s' cannot end with '/'" % pathname
ValueError: path 'env26/' cannot end with '/'

Concerning MANIFEST - yeah, we saw some f* word in comments )
