I am Gabriel Ong, a software engineer based in Tokyo. I'm deeply passionate about leveraging modern technologies to solve problems and create value for people. I enjoy collaborating with others and developing highly distributed and scalable systems that remain extensible and performant! π§
In my last role, I was a Senior Backend Engineer in Shopee Singapore working as part of the Product Detail Page Team and also the Marketplace Payments team, maintaining mission-critical systems that withstood billions of queries. I have worked in other companies such as Grab Singapore previously.
My interests are currently in Distributed Systems and Full Stack Development, and building a healthy, robust and nurturing Engineering culture that grows people from all walks of life.
