Expected behavior:

Adding a quick custom service Before=qubes-mount-dir.service results in Qubes services starting normally.

Actual behavior:

Even if the new script is empty, the VM hostname is not getting set (shows as 'localhost'). But adding After=qubes-db.service to qubes-early-vm-config.service results in hostname getting set. This suggests there is a race condition among systemd units.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Add and enable new service file:

[Unit]
Description=Script protections to enhance vm-sudo
Before=qubes-mount-dirs.service

[Service]
Type=oneshot
RemainAfterExit=no
ExecStart=/usr/lib/qubes/init/vm-sudo-protect.sh
