X.org crashes with Qubes R3.2 #3487

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

It's hard to reproduce but I've been getting it about once a week. It happens with many appVMs running, but no particularly heavy load on any of them. I think it started happening a few months ago.

X.org crashes, the screen goes blank, and then I return to a login screen. If I login, all the previously running VMs are unusable. Some are yellow, some are green, seemingly at random, but none of them work, and they cannot be killed. I must restart the system to fix this.
