Why Subgraph can't easily be ported: Gnome Shell extension popups don't seem to work? #3770

Seems Gnome shell extension popups may not work in Debian.
Can any one confirm this.

Many parts of Subgraph rely on Gnome Shell extension integration.
Like in the Gnome shell menu bar and Gnome Shell popups.

So, it won't be easy to port using Debian as base.

Unless we UN-Gnome Subgraph and write native interfaces we can't get Subgraph running
