I get the following error with the new keyboard setting applet:

Error activating XKB configuration.
There can be various reasons for that.

If you report this situation as a bug, include the results of
  xprop -root | grep XKB
  gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard model
  gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard layouts
  gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard options

Ah, there is '\n' in layout name...
http://git.qubes-os.org/gitweb/?p=marmarek/gui.git;a=commit;h=fb0cda414b6705987ac9e0446b95d358b51fb92f
You must set layout again to fix your settings.
