Even if I create a netvm with a different label, the icon in the menu is always red.

What is interesting, the desktop files all look correct, e.g.:

[share](joanna@dom0)$ cat desktop-directories/netvm2-vm.directory
[Entry](Desktop)
Encoding=UTF-8
Type=Directory
Name=Domain: netvm2
Icon=/var/lib/qubes/servicevms/netvm2/icon.png

And:

[share](joanna@dom0)$ cd /var/lib/qubes/servicevms/netvm2/
[netvm2](joanna@dom0)$ ll
total 2168
drwxrwxr-x 2 joanna joanna        4096 Jul 14 15:26 apps
lrwxrwxrwx 1 joanna joanna          33 Jul 14 15:26 icon.png -> /usr/share/qubes/icons/yellow.png
-rw-rw-r-- 1 joanna joanna         823 Jul 14 15:26 netvm2.conf
-rw-rw---- 1 joanna joanna  2147483648 Jul 14 15:26 private.img
-rw-rw-r-- 1 joanna joanna 11811160064 Mar 19  2011 volatile.img
-rw-rw-r-- 1 joanna joanna          23 Jul 14 15:26 whitelisted-appmenus.list

... still the icon in the menu is red.

After I removed the menus, and recreated them by hand, the icon is still... Red?!

[share](joanna@dom0)$ xdg-desktop-menu uninstall desktop-directories/netvm2-vm.directory applications/netvm2-*.desktop
[share](joanna@dom0)$ kbuildsycoca4
kbuildsycoca4 running...
[share](joanna@dom0)$ /usr/lib/qubes/create_apps_for_appvm.sh /var/lib/qubes/vm-templates/fedora-17-x64/apps.templates/ netvm2 servicevms
--> Converting Appmenu Templates...
--> Adding Apps to the Menu...
kbuildsycoca4 running...
[share](joanna@dom0)$ kbuildsycoca4
kbuildsycoca4 running...

WTF?

I can't reproduce this. I've created yellow netvm and icons in menu are yellow. After changing VM color to blue, icons also have changed...

Indeed, after I changed the color of one of the netvm, the icon started to appear correct. I also created another netvm, with some different-than-red label, and again, it got correct label. Probably something got screwed up in the KDE, oh well. Anyway, closing this for now.
