GUI updater is unresponsive when evaluating which qubes need to be restarted

Brief summary

After performing an update, and clicking "Next" nothing happens for quite some time.

Steps to reproduce

1. Have a lot of qubes
2. Start updates via GUI
3. When updates finish, click "next"

Expected behavior

Some visual indicator that "next" got clicked and its preparing next step. Maybe make it inactive? Or show some spinner?

Actual behavior

Nothing happens, it's easy to click "next" again, which will get consumed by the next step.
In fact, in this time window is frozen, doesn't repaint after switching workspaces or resizing.

Can confirm. Such a problem with windows not repainting/being unresponsive is shared by quite a few Qubes GUI components, most notably the Qube Manager as well (such as when creating/cloning qubes).

Might be related. I see the update is marked as 100% complete and next button enabled even before all the updates are completed.
