A standards-based, multiple engine, media player framework.

The MetaPlayer Framework provides a stable UI framework adhering to the standard-based HTML5 media interface. MetaPlayer provides:

  • HTML5 interfaces for popular players (eg. YouTube, FlowPlayer)

  • Time-based interactive UI built using Mozilla's open-source PopcornJS

  • Individually selectable player controls, timelines, and page widgets.

  • Subtitles, video search, transcripts, and other extensible metadata events originating in data services provides by MRSS, SMIL, and JSON.

The MetaPlayer Framework core is built using jQuery and PopcornJS. Individual players and plugin requirements will vary.
