Gran Turismo 5 crashes with {SPU[0x0000100] Thread (PDICellSpursKernel0) [0x05c20]} SIG: Thread terminated due to fatal error: Unknown STOP code: 0x0 (op=0x4000, Out_MBox=empty) (in file D:\a\1\s\rpcs3\Emu\Cell\SPUThread.cpp:4801[:22], in function stop_and_signal) (e=0x000001e7[487]) when buying a used car on SPU LLVM decoder. ASMJIT works fine, and buying cars from the regular dealership with LLVM also works fine.

lol, this is so oddly specific. I find this beyond weird, but also helpful, I am seeing conflicting reports of GT5 being completely playable, and reports of in game progression being halted by errors.

@Satan86 Is this still an issue?

Yes.

Thanks. I could not reproduce this myself - I successfully purchased a used Daihatsu Storia at the beginning of the game for around 10k credits, the purchase went through without crashing and I was then able to enter the car in a race.

That said, my specs are different from yours (Linux Mint 21.1, Intel i7-10870H CPU with Nvidia 3070 GPU and driver 530.41). It seems this may be platform-specific, though reports from others could help nail it down further.

Running 0.0.28-15169 which as of recent updates now allows GT5 to run fully updated to 2.17. Reccomended wiki settings. I also get the stop code crash when I purchase a car. I'm on Windows 11 22621.1778, Ryzen 7 5800X, 3080 12GB on driver 535.98.

Likewise on 0.0.28-15208 with recommended settings from the wiki with the LLVM recompiler, has happened with two different cars now but I was able to buy others previously.

Switching to the ASMJIT recompiler seemed to resolve the issue for me, though this comes with the audio stuttering problems also reported in GT6.

Windows 11, Ryzen 9 3900X, GTX 2080 SUPER.

I have a workaround, guys! Since I've changed both the Default and Scale resolution to 1080p I can buy any car I want, used or new!

Note: Not the best quality but I can play, like a PS3 on a Led screen.

8 hours without any crashes!
