Automatic password entry in Firefox does not work #229

Hi,

I use Firefox (v30) and I use the built-in password database which automatically enters usernames and passwords on most websites I use. However, it does not work for RainLoop.

Steps to reproduce:
When I open the RainLoop login page and begin typing my username I can select my username from the form history. If I do or just completely type my username does not matter. After that I tab to the password field which by then contains a bunch of balls representing my password filled in by Firefox. When I press Enter or click the Sign In button the password field becomes red as if I have not filled in any password at all. I have to remove or add at least 1 character, leave the password field, return to re-add or remove that character and then I'm able to login.

Expected behavior:
The automatically filled password field should be accepted.

Ralf.

This is exactly my scenario. But I suspect FF's recognition to be responsible for that. It's the same for OC for example.

I don't think I have seen this behavior when logging into Owncloud.

Just tested with OwnCloud and the OC login form has no issue with the Firefox auto password. It only becomes red if you enter nothing in the password field. If I let Firefox fill in the password I can login just fine.

There is something in the RainLoop code that is preventing the Firefox entered password to be seen as input. Perhaps it looks for keystrokes in the psasword field to test if something has been typed by a user?
