Apparently, Safari on iPhone running iOS 8.3 is looking for /apple-touch-icon-120x120-precomposed.png. This generates 404 errors.

Two steps:

  • Reproduce the issue (going to the Apple Store again :) )
  • Generate this additional picture. No impact in the HTML.

Apparently apple-touch-icon-152x152-precomposed.png and apple-touch-icon-76x76-precomposed.png are also regularly requested.

Hum... that turns out to be complicated. It would be best to:

  • Generate all precomposed pictures. No more guess work.
  • Make it an option in the Apple Touch icon section: not everybody wants an additional 8-or-so icons set.
