Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start the RealFaviconGenerator with the demo image.
  2. Scroll to "Favicon for Android Chrome", select the "Options" tab.
  3. Note that "Standalone" is selected by default.

Expected: You can enter a start URL, and select the orientation.
Actual: These inputs are disabled. Once you click the "Standalone" option, they become active.

Thank you for this comprehensive procedure. Having worked in QA for nearly 10 years, I appreciate!

This immediate issue is that browser should be selected by default. Easy fix. However, as of today, standalone is a de facto default, even in the compatibility test.

So the plan to fix this issue is:

  • Review how browser and standalone modes are processed by Android Chrome as of today.
  • Either make browser the default or fix the issue by enabling the URL and orientation fields.
