There has been some discussion in #256 about Content Types. A content type is the type of a request, being one of the constants defined in the nsIContentPolicy XPCOM interface, e.g. TYPE_SCRIPT, TYPE_IMAGE or TYPE_STYLESHEET.

The content type for each request is handed over to RequestPolicy through the shouldLoad calls, so they could be easily used. This issue lists some tasks that are planned for enhancing RP regarding content types.

  • #256 – display the request's Content Types for each domain in the menu
    • also display a counter (?) – see #152
  • implement backend support for rules containing Content Types
  • allow users to add requests with Content Type conditions at Your Policy.
  • optional/to be discussed: allow users to add requests with Content Type conditions through the menu
