Problem

Sometimes one needs to share Notebooks with others who might not be part of their GitHub organisation (e.g. their customers) or might not even be on GitHub. Users end up exporting the Notebooks into PDF or HTML and emailing them out. This is an OK workflow for one-off sharing but quickly becomes annoying when you have to do it often and for notebooks that are changing regularly. Besides, the Notebook interactivity could get lost in formats like PDF.

Solution

You can share Notebooks with third party users via ReviewNb. You can simply select the Notebook and invite users by their email. They get an invitation and can login into ReviewNb and can see the Notebook that's shared with them. Optionally both parties can write comments etc.

Benefits

  • Easy to use sharing workflow similar to Google Docs.
  • Anyone with email can use it. Recipient doesn't even need to be on GitHub.
  • Any changes to the Notebook are instantly visible to recipient. No need to re-share HTML/PDF etc.
