Nice update courtesy of our friend Blondfrogs. This feature fixes a bug in the asset layer (never exploited) and also brings bip9 functionality into Ritocoin, as well as checkpoints.

Bitcoin announced that they will be revealing information about a minor vulnerability bug that was fixed in v0.15.1 of Bitcoin. Ritocoin (and our parent project Ravencoin) was forked in the middle of v0.15.1 and because of this we are likely vunerable to the Bitcoin bug. More information here about the Bitcoin Bugs: https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2019-June/017040.html

This 2.4.0.0 release includes a backport of the Bitcoin v0.15.1 networking updates and a reorganization of pointer access objects in functions. It is considered a security release and all Ritocoin users are encouraged to update.

This brings Ritocoin up to date with Ravencoin's 2.2.2 release. Improvements include greatly reduced memory usage and faster performance. Asset indexing is now disabled by default. If you want to index all assets in the chain, add 'assetindex=1' to your rito.conf file. If your assets are not present when you first load the wallet, please close and restart it and they should then appear.

This is a mandatory update that changes the block reward reduction schedule. At block height 157081 the future mining rewards per block will start to reduce. If you are a mining pool, please update to this latest wallet release before we hit that height. The chain is projected to reach that height around March 19th, 2019.

This release fixes a critical error in the blockchain sync, and resolves the chain split that occurred early on January 24th, 2019. The bug that caused this is present in other coin codebases and we are withholding the source code to this release until the other coin projects have a chance to release their own fix to this. All users are requested to upgrade to this new version as soon as possible. If your node is on the wrong chain (your height would be under 80,000) then you need to delete all the blockchain files except for your wallet.dat file and then restart the daemon and it will sync from the beginning on the correct chain. The source code links above DO NOT CONTAIN the fix. The fix is currently only present in the binaries packages.

This release fixes

  • a bug in the block validation.
  • the GUI receive tab now correctly shows the addresses in the history list.

All users are encouraged to upgrade to this latest release.

Some users report their anti-virus is flagging the wallet due to "Dyna:BitCoinMiner-CR". We believe this is because our wallet supports CPU mining and the mining code in the wallet is seen as similar to some known malware.
