Menu itms fade from view

When I mouse over items in the main menu, the choices often fade from view, as shown in the attached movie. However, this behavior is not consistent and seems to sometime depend on whether I mouse over from within the main menu window, i.e. moving vertically from item to item, whether I move the mouse over the item from outside the menu window from left to right, or from right to left! The movie does not actually capture the mouse movements but at no time do I actually dismiss the window, i.e., most times a sub-menu appears and then disappears, it is because of time, not the I have moved the mouse away from the submemu

Again, the behavior is not fully consistent and so I cannot tell what determines whether the submenu disappears or remains. Very odd behavior!

I have not tried this on any other OS.
