I am building on Stampede. I configure HPX with

module load cmake
module load boost
cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DHPX_HAVE_PARCELPORT_MPI=ON -DHPX_MALLOC=tbbmalloc -DCMAKE_C_COMPILER=icc -DCMAKE_CXX_COMPILER=icpc -DCMAKE_FORTRAN_COMPILER=ifort -DMPI_C_COMPILER=mpicc -DMPI_CXX_COMPILER=mpic++ -DMPI_FORTRAN_COMPILER=mpif90 -DCMAKE_C_FLAGS_RELEASE='-Ofast -ipo -xHOST' -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS_RELEASE='-Ofast -ipo -xHOST' -DBOOST_ROOT=$TACC_BOOST_DIR -DTBB_ROOT=$TBBROOT -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$HPX_DIR $(pwd)/../hpx

and then configure my application with

cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DCMAKE_C_COMPILER=icc -DCMAKE_CXX_COMPILER=icpc -DCMAKE_C_FLAGS_RELEASE="-Ofast -ipo -xHOST" -DCMAKE_CXX_FLAGS_RELEASE="-Ofast -ipo -xHOST"

When building, this leads to the linker error

/work/00507/eschnett/hpx/lib/hpx/libhpx.so: undefined reference to `hpx::naming::detail::intrusive_ptr_release(hpx::naming::detail::id_type_impl*)'

I am using

$ icpc --version
icpc (ICC) 13.1.0 20130121

and

$ env|grep BOOST
TACC_BOOST_INC=/opt/apps/intel13/boost/1.51.0/include
TACC_BOOST_DIR=/opt/apps/intel13/boost/1.51.0
TACC_BOOST_LIB=/opt/apps/intel13/boost/1.51.0/lib

With "make VERBOSE=yes", I see the following linker invocation:

/opt/apps/intel/13/composer_xe_2013.2.146/bin/intel64/icpc   -mkl     -O3 -rdynamic -fPIC -std=c++0x -Wall -Wno-strict-aliasing -Wsign-promo -Werror=vla -Werror=return-type -wd1170 -wd858 -wd1098 -wd488 -wd2203 -pthread  -DHPX_HAVE_HWLOC -DNDEBUG -DBOOST_DISABLE_ASSERTS -D_GNU_SOURCE -pie CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/algorithms.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/algorithms_fun.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/bench.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/block_matrix.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/hwloc.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/main.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/matrix.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/matrix_hpx.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/tensor.cc.o CMakeFiles/block_matrix_exe.dir/tests.cc.o  -o bin/block_matrix -rdynamic -L/work/00507/eschnett/hpx/lib/hpx -L/opt/apps/intel13/boost/1.51.0/lib -L/opt/apps/intel/13/composer_xe_2013.2.146/tbb/lib/intel64 -L/opt/apps/intel13/mvapich2/1.9/lib -L/opt/ofed/lib64 -L/opt/apps/limic2/0.5.5/lib -lhwloc -liostreams -lhpx -lhpx_serialization -lhpx_init -lboost_date_time -lboost_filesystem -lboost_program_options -lboost_regex -lboost_serialization -lboost_system -lboost_thread -lboost_chrono -lmpichcxx -lmpich -lopa -lmpl -libmad -lrdmacm -libumad -libverbs -lrt -llimic2 -lpthread -lmpich -lopa -lmpl -libmad -lrdmacm -libumad -libverbs -lrt -llimic2 -lpthread -lmpichcxx -lmpich -lopa -lmpl -libmad -lrdmacm -libumad -libverbs -lrt -llimic2 -lpthread -ltbbmalloc -ltbbmalloc_proxy -limf -lsvml -lirng -lintlc -lmpichcxx -lmpichcxx -lmpich -lopa -lmpl -libmad -lrdmacm -libumad -libverbs -lrt -llimic2 -lpthread -ltbbmalloc -ltbbmalloc_proxy -limf -lsvml -lirng -lintlc -Wl,-rpath,:/work/00507/eschnett/hpx/lib/hpx:/opt/apps/intel13/boost/1.51.0/lib:/opt/apps/intel/13/composer_xe_2013.2.146/tbb/lib/intel64:/work/00507/eschnett/hpx/lib/hpx:/opt/apps/intel13/boost/1.51.0/lib:/opt/apps/intel/13/composer_xe_2013.2.146/tbb/lib/intel64:/opt/apps/intel13/mvapich2/1.9/lib:/opt/ofed/lib64:/opt/apps/limic2/0.5.5/lib

I am using the "fixing_588" branch of HPX.
